michaelbayisdamnsex

not long ago my friend asked me regarding a director - she has to write this essay regarding a director and his characteristics and some interpretation regarding it..

i suggest: MICHAEL BAY - 17feb65 - michael benjamin bay

director of: transformer 2007, the rock 1996, armageddon 1998, pearl harbor 2001, bad boys 1995, bad boys II 2003, the island 2005..

first of all let's admit that all of his movie are just simple damn sex!

and after just watching armageddon (which i found out that chapter 27 music is crappy - then i went back to hmv to change it - then somehow when the guy played it on their dvd player - it bloody worked - then i had to eat my shame and go back home T_T), i just have to admit AGAIN that ARMAGEDDON IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's simply damn sex! bruce willis super cool, and everything is just damn cool, intense, emotional, nice, yeah all the good adjective i can give.. *mind the lack of vocab as my english is just simply bad..

so the first thing about michael bay is that in all of his movie there is this so called slow moe sunset scene whereby the two main leads (doesnt hv to be boy + girl or lover) give this look to each other and to the surrounding.. the camera will trun 360 and with damn cool soundtrack, the moment is just damn perfect.. and this moment is just so damn cool that i can actually notice it in his other movies.. armaggeddon: remember the scene before they went to space, whereby bruce and his daughter have this dialogue in the middle of some random ruine.. she said smt like "say i promise, i will be back.. and if it's not too much, please bring back my fiancee too".. and then in the island.. the walking out of the lab/vacinity scene? in transfomer: when the decepticons shot a missile on sam and co.. then after the blast, sam woke up and look at the hot girl.. u know rite???
nicolas cage moment after the gun is shot at him.. yeah.. i like this moment and i just realised that it is so michael bay.. so if i were to interpret this to something.. as in what is the purpose of this random scene? HOPE, i would say that..

as one can realize, michael bay movie is all about present, all about WHAT HAPPEN NOW, and the scale is big.. like the future of the world depends on this one guy.. (take bruce willis and co to save the world, or sam to help the autobot).. compare it with STEVEN SPIELBERG - you will notice that all of his movies are about things IN PAST or IN FUTURE - im not saying is bad things because indiana jones 4, minority report, war of the worlds and many other of his sci fi movies are DAMN GOOD too - really.. but it is just different, as in different genre, different style, etc with bay.. Bay is more about now, about the things that affect our life and that CAN actually happen to our life NOW.. so i guess this make the audience able to relate better with the movie and the characters..

that's why, another similarity, is that in all Bay movies, there is this presidential speech.. like the president speech before bruce went to space.. the secretary of defence speech on transformer and the speech in pearlharbor.. and the military (ex-military) guy in the rock, and some random speech in the island (man, im so going to buy the island soon - now im dying to watch it).. well the point is to show the scale of the things happening - as u can see people from all around the world do care.. there are always short random scene of people in india, euro, wherever, wacthing tv or listening to the radio or even praying for the success of these protagonists as the fate of the world are on their shoulder..

it is indeed these kind of movies, and again, a super cool soundtrack that makes me and hopefully many other audiences in the world, fall in love with the movies..

well done bay!

u r the man!
